Prints of Darkness

So recently we have been working on a project called 'Prints of Darkness' which is based around interior design really as we have been asked to create something that goes in any interior that fits the theme of 'darkness' and uses two of the print processes we learnt in the first half of the module. This is actually a very vague brief with a lot of room for interpritation as an 'interior' can literally be anywhere! I have gone with the idea of making a lampshade that uses 'shadow puppets' to cast shadows when turned on. Shadows and silhouettes are how i have interprited the Darkness theme and the lampshade will be my artifact for an interior.

Here are the 'shadow puppets' which have been laser cut from mountboard. I also tried cutting from foamboard and card and will look at which material creates the best shadows. The next step for me now is to concentrate on how to make the lampshade itself...
